Big Bend National Park is a large 801,163 acre park that is bounded by the Rio Grande. The park features deserts and mountains and plenty of wildlife. Bears and Mountain lions as well as Bobcats, roadrunners, snakes, and lizards all inhabit the area. It is located in a remote region about 4 and a half hours away from the nearest major city(El Paso). Activities include Kayaking down the Rio Grande, climbing the Chisos Mountains, or hiking through the Chihuahuan Desert. Lodging can be found in the Chisos Mountain lodge or the nearby village or Terlingua. I personally stayed at wildhouse station.
