Located on the shore of Lake Mendota, opposite of downtown Madison, Governor Nelson State Park is a 422 Acre state Park named after Governor Gaylord Nelson. There is a vareity of habitat at the park including savanna, fields, and shoreline. Activities include hiking, boating, fishing, and skiing in the winter months.
