This is the church called Our Lady of The Assumption in the city os San Sebastian de la Gomera, Canary Islands, Spain.
La Spezia, Italy. Cathedral of Christ the King, a modernist landmark with a white circular drum and a flat disc-shaped roof topped by a slim black cross, shown in a bright cartoon style aerial illustration. The round cathedral rises above a wide rectangular podium with a long white colonnade of slender columns along the front, flat terraces and low annex buildings on both sides. The cathedral was designed by the Rationalist architect Adalberto Libera, built between 1956 and 1975, and the architect died in 1963 before the work was finished. The structure stands on an elevated platform above Piazza Europa, and the cylindrical form with its horizontal bands of windows dominates the center of the composition. Around the complex lie multi-storey apartment blocks in warm ochre, orange and cream tones, a white high-rise tower behind the cathedral, and a busy avenue with cars and pedestrian crossings in the foreground. Steep forested hills covered in dense green trees and scattered hillside houses fill the background, with blue mountain ridges beneath a pale sky with soft clouds. The stylized outlines, saturated greens and warm building colors give the daytime scene a vivid, poster-like look. The high aerial viewpoint shows the layout of the sacred building, the square and the surrounding urban fabric of this Ligurian port city on the Gulf of Poets.
