I drove to Baldwin Lake in Illinois for 2 days and the first day just caught a bunch of dinks. The second day, I got a few big bites but ultimately caught a 5lb channel catfish. The big blue catfish still evades my capture after so many years.
I went under Boone Bridge again to end the year. Only had until dusk to fish and there was a small drizzling rain. I did manage to get four catfish and would have probably caught quite a few more if I had only used worms instead of trying with cut bait.
Back in St. Louis for the Holidays and bagged a couple of fish on the Meramec River including an Asian carp and a Buffalo, but the big gar got away again at the shoreline.
It Iced over earlier this year than last year and I was ready to get on the ice and do some fishing. Over 2 days, I caught 7 bluegill and learned that they all reside where the weed line ends.
I went to the baraboo river first to get some walleye but downtown baraboo was pretty barren so I ended up going to Wisconsin Dells to try and grab a few. Ended up with four and several more bites. They are active, but just just not biting as hard.
I decided to visit Albany on the Sugar River this weekend after failing to catch much elsewhere and it was a decent decision as I wracked up 7 suckers by the end. Nothing much else was biting though.
I went to the big dam again at Prairie Du Sac to fish for Walleye with Wolf-river rigs and minnows but sturgeon kept biting the minnows. I got 3 of them so it looks like I have to go downstream to really get Walleyes.
We caught 6 huge channel catfish off of Governor Nelson state park and several got off the hook. Overall, today was a great fishing day with a subscriber.
I went to Prairie Du Sac to catch some good walleye with the new rig set up I had. Caught a few with the new rig but the main fish of the night was a big 46 inch Sturgeon I caught.
I went to the power plant lake of Lake Columbia to attempt to catch some big flatheads and it paid off. I got two 20lb plus flatheads in the single night. It as great!!
