I went to Dayton on the last warm day of the year. It was about 70 degrees with rain on and off. It started off slow but I actually caught a Brown Trout, which I had never caught at Dayton before.
Went to the Crawfish River for a day this week and fish were still biting. A lot of carp jumping and some small Pike. Was not able to land a large pike though and lost a few suckers after dark. The catfish seem to be dormant by now, however.
I haven't fished the Rock that much this year so I decided to give it a shot at Klement Park near Fort Atkinson. Was not a wasted trip. Got 2 cats, several drum, and a white bass, which was used as bait.
Today was one of my first days back in Wisconsin fishing. I went to the railroad bridge area near Sauk City to fish for big flatheads. I did not catch any big flatheads but I caught a 50 inch sturgeon. Was quite the thrill.
I finally caught a decent size blue Catfish today! I went to centaur chute on the last of the cold days and the water may have been under 50 degrees there. Despite the low water, it was probably still 5-10 feet deep and I threw large chunks of cut creek chub for bait. I finally got a hit and a decent size blue.
I have been hunting the mighty blue catfish for years now and have failed to catch one. While I did not catch a huge one at River's Edge, I did catch a few decent size ones as well as some other fish.
So I went down to River Des Peres for a night hoping to catch the Mighty Blue Gatofish but they just weren't biting there. I did manage to catch a new species and a decent size freshwater drum, however.
Decided to try to finally go to legacy park around Cottleville to finally make a video. The pond is about 9 acres big and has some decent fish. Didn't catch anything big but did get a few decent channels.
I'm back in St. Louis for a few weeks catching fish on the Meramac. Went to a small spillway today and catch a small drum and bass and then hooked 2 decent sized Asian Carp. Good eating if you can pick out the bones.
I went to a new Spot on the Sugar River at the end of one of the hiking paths to fish for two days. A big mix of species were there including Bass, Pike, Suckers, Carp, catfish, and Drum. Lost some big fish but pulled in plenty.
