Decided to try to finally go to legacy park around Cottleville to finally make a video. The pond is about 9 acres big and has some decent fish. Didn't catch anything big but did get a few decent channels.
I'm back in St. Louis for a few weeks catching fish on the Meramac. Went to a small spillway today and catch a small drum and bass and then hooked 2 decent sized Asian Carp. Good eating if you can pick out the bones.
I went to a new Spot on the Sugar River at the end of one of the hiking paths to fish for two days. A big mix of species were there including Bass, Pike, Suckers, Carp, catfish, and Drum. Lost some big fish but pulled in plenty.
Went back to fish for Huge Buffalo on Lake Wisconsin. While I did catch a ton of carp, the buffalos were hard to come by. I eventually did get two of them but the biggest one was only 15 lbs. I hope to do better there next year.
Went to Summer Oaks Boat Ramp again after 3 months to fish for some big catfish. The area near the boat ramp had huge amounts of bluegills and some smallies as well. The Catfish did not hit until after 10pm but I did manage a channel and a flathead.
While I was waiting for my car, I decided to take a look at Tenney Park and the Breakwater area. Went for two days, only caught 2 decent fish but figured out the best way to fish it.
I finally decided to drive the 80 miles to the Fox River Locks at Princeton to fish for monsters. I hooked a good size Flathead Catfish but I lost it at the bank but I did recover by getting a really big Carp in the end.
I went to the Crawfish river at the confluence with the Beaver Dam river this week. This fishing was slower than usual. Nothing really hit during the day but after it got cooler and darker, I managed to get 3 catfish and a few carp. The bass and bowfin did not seem to be there this time around.
So, because I've wanted to make a pheasant branch creek video for a while now so I finally went towards the mouth of the creek at the first bridge and BOOM, I got a big catfish and a few drums. The bank improvements really kind of destroyed the area though.
I went to a new spillway at Rome, Wisconsin to see if catfish make it all the way up to there at the Bark. Although there were no catfish above the dam, I did manage to catch a catfish below the dam after dark. The small minnows in the water made excellent bait.
