Went to another section of the Sugar river again today and caught many fish, unfortunately all of the same variety. The Sugar at this junction seems to be swarming with these fish, not even giving other fish a chance to bite on the line.
After trying a few spots during the day, I decided to settle on a small secluded spot on the Sugar River with a hidden pool that is pretty deep. Use worms and bottom fished and caught plenty of fish. Overall, it was a pretty good fishing day.
Spent two evenings at Crystal Lake this week before the weathers starts to turn really cold and got a pretty good haul of fish. A lot of yellow bass biting, a few bluegills, a largemouth, a few bullheads, and Channel Catfish.
I decided to stay close to home this time and fish the Sugar, traveling only 20 minutes to Belleville, but not to fish at the Dam or the Park but a little further downstream at a bridge. There were lots of fish hiding there and some good catches.
On a cold Sunday, I went to Stoughton Spillway to see if I could get any monsters and while I did bring up several fish, the size was not what I was looking for. The millpond and spillway does not seem to be that productive for bigger fish.
Went fishing the last two days under Headgates Spillway and Decatur Dam. First day was pretty slow and I lost a big carp at my feet. However, the second day was really good and I caught several fish.
I spent 2 days in Brodhead fishing the Sugar river and the spillway. Didn't catch any giant fish but did catch a few surprises and several decent sized fish. Will be back later to bag more big fish.
Spent a few days at the Dam in Jefferson angling for a big flathead. I caught a couple of drum, several small channel and was able to end with a nice sized fish, but I'll be back for that giant.
I wanted to catch a big fish. I decided to try to fish different spots on the Maunesha River to try to catch Pike and Channel Cats, and maybe a bass or two. While the first few hours only yielded some bullheads, it was a different story afterwards.
Went to Ludden Lake over this weekend and fished the spillway for two afternoons. Things started off slow with just a few sunfish and small bass, but then we pulled up some big fish from the dam wall.
