For 2-3 hours a day for 4 days, I went to the Sugar River to catch some fish. The water level was extremely low so fishing below the dam was pretty pointless and only Carp were really biting above, so I had a really fun time bagging me some carp.
I've done fishing for many kinds of fish and I find Catfishing and Carp fishing to be much more exciting than Bass fishing. They fight harder pound for pound, they grow bigger, and you can fish with more than 1 rod. Do you agree?
Lake Redstone seems to be a hotspot for Crappies at the moment as boaters are bagging limits within a few hours. I was fishing from shore and nothing hit until around sunset time. But after that, they crappies swam in and hit like crazy. Got 8 or 9 bites within 25 minutes and pulled in quite a few.
There are several ponds and streams in Middleton and some are very much fishable. In this episode, we go to Tiedeman's Pond, Striker's Pond, Confluence Pond, and Pheasant Branch Creek to see what we can catch.
Went on a small adventure today and to three places in total. Started off at Udey dam and had a fish snap the string right at the start. However, I did manage two fish at the place including a pike. Then caught some fish at Fall River and rounded it out with a nice bass at Clausen.
There are two ponds at Elver Park and everyone just fishes the smaller one. The pond at the back is much larger and is a lot more wild and unfished. In this episode, we get a surprise catch there.
Door Creek is a relatively unknown park between Madison and Cottage Grove. But, it is teeming with Bass. Can't say there are giants but there are pretty good specimens in the 1-2 lb range.
Made the hour drive to Cadiz Springs recreational area to fish Zander and Beckman Lake. Zander was a No-Go since it was so choked with reeds but Beckman had some open water. Many fish were caught but no glory fish.
Made the hour drive to Lake Sinissippi today to see if the lake was barren or not. Many reviews said only bullheads in the lake but as we found out, the lake has a healthy populations of Channel Catfish as well. There were also Bigmouth Buffalo hanging out but they were not biting.
We went again to Mckee Farms park to try to hook an epic Carp. Although we may have had a bite from an Epic Carp, we didn't bring any up. The last Carp of the day was decent, but was still not an Epic Carp.
