The Nikon D760, successor to the D750 looks to be a DSLR Camera that is slated to come out in the second half of next year. This camera will have 4k shooting and hopefully a much improved video AF system, an ISO button to shift closer to the shutter release and improved AF(hopefully the D500 system) and better performance and higher ISO levels.
It has leaked from Sony Alpha Rumors that Sony has two new full-frame sensors, one 36mp sensor and one 60mp sensor capable of shooting 8k at 30 and 60 fps. These may be the next generation sensors that go into the A7IV and A7RIV and would represent a huge step up from the previous generation and set a new standard for full-frame cameras.
Leica has announced its most recent compact camera, the D-Lux 7. It is a 17mp Camera on a Micro four-thirds sensor with 7fps burst rate. It has a Maximum ISO of 25600 with 4k auto capture mode. It also has 4k video @ 30 and comes with a 24-75mm lens priced at $1195. All in all, not a bad offer.
Even though it has only been weeks since the launch of the Canon EOS R camera, it has already grown to twenty-two percent dominance in Japan, showing how brand loyalty is much stronger in Japan than it is elsewhere in the world where Sony continues its dominance. Canon is projected to take over 50% of the market share of mirrorless full-frame next year making it the top dog again in its native country. Nikon currently has about 10% of the market share in Japan buts its more affordable Z6 full-frame has not been released yet in Japan and that is expected to increase market share.
Fuji in a recent interview says they are never going full frame. and will stay with APS-C and Medium Format Cameras. They are afraid that going full frame will cannibalize their Camera sales from both their APS-C and Medium format lines and wishes to leave a gap between their two product lines.
Canon is rumored to have two mirrorless Cameras on tap for 2019. One will be beneath their EOS R an one will be above their EOS R. I figure the one below will be an APS-C because the EOS-R is like their 6d Series and the one above will be a 40-50mp camera to compete with the A7RIII and the Z7.
One X 360 Camera has been launched by Insta 360. This camera can take spherical video at 5.7k at 30fps, 4k at 50fps, and 3k at 100fps. For stills, it can shoot 18 mp images. It claims to have gimbal like stabilization without an actual gimbal by using the flow-state stabilization algorithm. Its dedicated editing software also has an option to automatically remove the selfie stick.
Google has unveiled the Pixel 3. It has two frontside cameras and 1 backside camera. It has has improved AI and technology but the images do not look that impressive to me.
Rumors have it that despite not unveiliing much at Photokina 2018, Sony will soon announce new mirrorless APS-C Cameras to succeed to A6500 and A6000 most likely. They have also hinted at a bunch of new lenses that are also coming out. Hopefully some of those are professional grade APS-C lenses because the APS-C market is very large and there is a dearth or high-quality APS-C lenses which is why many APS-C shooter end up getting full-frame lenses.
