Fuji to launch GFX 50R -- Cheapest Medium Format Camera Ever!

Fuji is rumored to be launching the GFX 50R, the "cheapest" medium format camera ever. No, this does not mean there is going to be a $500 medium format camera going around. It will most likely be around $3600 without the lens and $4500 with the kit lens. Still in the professional flagship camera price range, but far cheaper than most medium format cameras. For high resolution, image quality enthusiasts, this might present a chance to jump from Full-Frame to Medium format.

Canon EOS R does not have image stabilization. Is this a joke?

Canon's brand shiny new EOS R has no image stabilization while all of its competition has 4-5 stops of image stabilization. Is this a joke? This puts the new Canon mirrorless way behind its Nikon and Sony counterparts. Think about it, you can adapt a non-IS lens to the Sony Camera and it will have 5 stops of stabilization and yet if you attach it to the Canon mirrorless, it will not have stabilization. Some say Canon is doing this to protect its line of expensive lenses with IS because having IS would not be an advantage if IBIS was implemented because then all lenses(including cheap ones) would have IS. This is a flawed strategy and Canon will lose market share because of it.

Fuji announces new XT-3 with 4k@60!

Among all the noise made recently by Canon, Nikon, and Sony, Fuji announced its XT-3 which I think will win some people over because it has a feature that not many other cameras have. It is able to shoot 4k video at 60fps whereas the full-frame mirrorless cameras from Canon, Nikon, and Sony can only do 4k at 30 frames per second. The improvements on Autofocus make it a formidable stills camera as well.

Canon Announces new EOS R Mirrorless Camera

Canon has launched its new EOS R Mirrorless Camera with the following features:
30.4 MP sensor
Fully articulating screen
8fps burst shooting
Over 5,000 AF points with DPAF
4k @ 30
1080 DP @ 60
100-40,000 ISO native
$2299

Seems like it would compete with the Z7 and A7RIII but the price tag puts it more in the Z6/A7III category. Hard to tell. Canon has only launched 1 mirrorless full frame instead of 2 like Nikon and Sony.

Canon EOS R leaked specs and photos

Canon is set to announce their Mirrorless EOS R Camera on Sept 5th and although they've been tight-lipped about it, there are a few leaks: 4k video(not sure if full frame or cropped)
DPAF(hopefully it works for 4k unlike their last mirrorless offering)
New Mount
WIFI
30.4mp

Looks a bit underwhelming if you ask me, but it probably will be a solid product.

Sony HX99 superzoom announced

Sony just announced the HX99, a superzoom 720mm camera on a 1/2.3 lens. Price will likely be around $500-$600. It will be 24-720 zoom. 6400 max ISO, .09 seconds AF, 10fps burst, eye AF, 4k and 1080dp @ 100fps. It honestly looks really good.

Nikon D3500 Specs, is it a disappointment?

Although the Z6 and the Z7 have been getting all the press, Nikon has quietly also introduced an updated their D3400 into the D3500 with the following specs:

No Touch screen

Looks just like the D3400 with better Ergonomics if you ask me.

Canon Mirrorless Camera launching soon, thoughts?

Nikon's Z6 and Z7 have launched to mixed reviews, especially with the 1 card slot. Canon looks like its about to launch its own like of Mirrorless as early as September 5th. While there are very few leaks, there are a few, one of them being that for video, it will have DPAF, 4k@30, but 1080dp only up to 60fps. This shows me they are still committed to handicapping their cameras to protect their cinema line of products which could be a very bad idea.

Nikon Comitts the same Error with Z6 and Z7 as with the D850 launch

Nikon, only a few days after the announcement of the Z6 and Z7, officially apologized for not being able to produce enough of them to fulfill demand and is already anticipating months of backlogs. This is the same exact problem they had with the D850 and they seemed to not have learned much from that debacle. People were waiting months to get their hands on a D850, so long that it became a common joke to hear people on forums say "I love the D850, too bad Nikon won't sell me one". I believe this will cost them sales as the Z7 and Z6 aren't really better than the Sony A7RIII and A7III and people who don't want to wait 3 months for the camera may jump ship.
