Nikon has killed two of their product lines in the Nikon 1 Series mirrorless cameras and the Nikon Keymission cameras, which were basically a crappy go-pro wannabe. Neither of these Lines were selling well so I doubt anyone will notice. However, I hope they put these resources to develop their new mirrorless Camera.
The Leica Noctilux-M 75mm F1.25 ASPH is the latest ultra-expensive prime lens coming from Leica that natively goes on their M Mount. However, this lens does clock in at nearly $13,000 and due to its shallow depth of field at 1.25 is pretty hard to use with the optical viewfinder. Would you rent or buy such a lens if you had a M10?
Since the USA is in a trade war with China and most of our allies as well, there are tariffs going up everywhere. How will this effect us that are buying Camera Equipment, will out stuff now be more expensive?
The Samsung Galaxy S10+ camera will have a new Camera system with 5 lenses. Two front-facing lenses and three back facing lenses. For the back facing lenses, the wide angle one will be 12mp, the telephoto lens will also be 12mp, but the ultra wide angle lens will be 16mp. I am really interested in the quality of the lenses since the sensor will be about the same size as point and shoot Cameras like the upcoming p1000.
Moment has released professional controls for cellphone cameras. This app requires the Google API and also Android OS 7 or iOS 10 but lets you have full control over shutter speed, F-stop value, and ISO and also white balance, making for interesting compositions never before possible on a phone Camera.
500px has been officially acquired by VCG and will now remove the option to upload photos under the creative commons licenses. VCG is kind of like the Getty Images of China which to me doesn't mean anything Good. Getty Images(along with Corbis) has been known to try to sue people for using public domain images just because they too added them to their archives. They have even been known to try to sue a photographer because she was using one of her photos on her own site(because they claimed they owned the copyright). China is also a no-go when it comes to copyright protection so I don't think you will get anything by leaving your images on 500px. I have already taken all my images down and I think other people should do the same.
Nikon finally announced its P1000 today and these are the specs:
24-3000mm Zoom(125x)
7 fps shooting
1/2.3 inch sensor
ISO up to 6400
4k video
$999
Able to shoot Raw
Looks like a good update. Probably good for shooting the moon and small birds at a far distance away. We will have to see when I get one in my hands.
Nikon has not 1, but two mirror-less cameras coming out soon. One will be 45mp and the other one will likely be 24mp. We know the first one will be a follow-up to the D850 and full-frame. The other one we don't know if its APS-C or Full Frame. Hopefully it is full frame and a replacement for the D750. However there are several issues that I will discuss in the video.
Canon has registered five new cameras, 2 DSLRs and three mirror-less cameras before Photokina so hopefully we will see a bunch of Canon products once that day comes. The two DSLRs seem to be updates to the 80D(although the 7d Mark III is a possibility) and an update to the 5dS(although an update to the 5d Mark IV is possible). One of the mirrorless cameras has to be the competitor to the A7III and the other two will probably compete against the A6500 and other Sony products.
