I went to fish the lower stretches of the Kickapoo, right before it empties into the Wisconsin River and it was pretty good. I was going to see if there were Flatheads that moved up the Wisconsin but I instead found that Sturgeon sure did move up the Wisconsin into the Kickapoo.
I went to Lick Creek to fish Mark Twain Lake and although I did not manage to land a mighty blue catfish as I went, I did manage to get a few including a decent channel catfish.
Decided to try to fish the Overflow pond to see if there were good channel catfish there and caught 2 but the gar kept stealing all the live bait I had set out for flatheads. I wish there was a spot on the deeper part of the pond to settle and fish though.
Fished at Creve Coeur Lake and caught a few drum and carp and then went to the Missouri River and caught a few small flatheads. Not a bad night but didn't catch any giants.
I went behind the Walmart to fish Bonhomme Creek and most of what was in the creek was gar. There were some freshwater Drum, but not that much else unfortunately.
Finally went to Busch Lakes 33 because the rivers were just not working and while I didn't catch many fish, I did catch my PB flathead catfish at 33.35lbs, so it was well worth it.
I went to River's Edge to try to catch some catfish but ended up with a lot of gar. I finally figured out how to hook these tricky fish though as I caught half a dozen of them.
After failing to catch the mighty blue Gatofish numerous times in the last week, I finally went to the Meramec River to catch some fish at a creek confluence. I ended up getting a new PB longnose gar and a flathead.
After failing multiple times to catch a big blue catfish, I went to the local pond to fish. I caught some bluegills and a lot of bass. It seems they were feeding heavily in between rains.
Went to the Crawfish river today to try my hand at Early Flatheads but failed to get much. Instead, the channel catfish were biting hard on the river and I ended up with half a dozen good sized channels.
