Nikon has left Brazil for good. Although Brazil is a big market with over 200 million people, it is just not a good place for foreign consumer electronics companies both because of the regulations and taxes there for such companies and because of the enormous grey market there. For these two reasons, Nikon has found it hard to be profitable there and has decided to leave.
