Here be explore how the Nikon Coolpix P1000 does for macro compared with a D750 with a Macro lens. The P1000 has 5 stops of IS and lets you get really close to the subject when in Macro mode, but also has the issue of the camera itself casting a shadow on the subject. However, it does let you get extremely close in macro mode to objects many Yards away in a pretend macro mode.
