Photography at Pikes Peak State Park
On one of my last trips this year in the North(may go south over Christmas Break), I went to Pikes Peak State Park (not to be confused with Pikes Peak in Colorado which is named after the same person). Its relateively smaller than other parks I've been to along the border but had great views of the Mississippi River along the bluffs and observation posts. My pictures are markedly different from other photos of the river at Pikes Peak mainly because of the lack of vegetation at this time of the year. Other pictures show the cliff side filled with green and red where winter pictures show them as colorless. The first icicles formed along the stream and falls which made for some decent shots but mainly in winter, you capture the complete sereness of the environment. There were several white tail dear on the trail too but I couldn't get a good shot of them unfortunately.
