Yellowstone Lake State Park trip
Perhaps the last warm day of the year around the Wisconsin Area. Decided to take the chance and visit Yellow Lake State Park. It was a pretty scenic place, especially with the sky and the clouds. No colors though as the trees had already lost all their leaves for the winter. Hiked along the lake following the road up until the high point where I could get a clear view of the entire lake area. It was tough getting pictures without the Harsh shadow making everything dark. The clouds I think had some major reflection on the landscape so everything looked like it was nightfall. I did get some good shots though, although they look like they were taken much later in the day than they actually were. Sunset was at 4:41pm but almost all shots of the water were taken at 3:25 pm or earlier, but the shadows made them look like it was almost dusk. If you point the camera down towards the ground a little and change the focus towards the top, it helps a little but it sometimes messes up the picture. Still haven't figured out why going manual makes everything look blue. Towards sunset I hiked up the Oak grove trail and then the windy ridge trail and got a few decent cloud shots. The sunset was very far away behind some hills so I didn't really get a good sunset picture. It was also kind of cloudy by sunset. Enjoy the photos!.
