While

statue
depicts
one

most
famous
incidents

World
War
II,
it

often
referred
to
as
the
Iwo
Jima
Memorial;
the
memorial
is
dedicated
to
all
Marines
who
have
given
their
lives
in
the
defense
of
the
United
States
since
1775.
