Great Blue Heron Caught and Swallowing a Fish
A great blue heron stands among rocks in a shallow section of a flowing river while attempting to swallow a very large fish. The heron lifts and maneuvers the fish in its bill, struggling to position the oversized prey for swallowing. Captured from a distance in slow motion, this wildlife footage shows a dramatic feeding behaviour in a natural freshwater river habitat.
A great blue heron struggles to maneuver an unusually large fish farther into its mouth while standing in shallow river water. The heron remains bent forward as it repeatedly adjusts the fish and attempts to position it for swallowing. Around the middle of the clip, the heron begins walking through the shallow water while continuing to hold the partially swallowed fish. It eventually stops and remains standing with the large fish still extending from its bill. Captured in slow motion, this footage shows an unusual and challenging wildlife feeding attempt.
A great blue heron bends down over shallow river water while holding an unusually large prey in its bill. The heron repeatedly attempts to maneuver the oversized fish into its mouth, keeping the fish close to the rocky riverbed as it struggles to position it. The fish appears too large for the heron to swallow easily, and the clip ends with the heron holding its head and the fish close to the surface of the shallow water. Captured in slow motion, this footage documents an unusual wildlife feeding attempt.
